Seids buyout will free up 2.83 this year, 1.83 next year will not save any money for years 3 or 4
It will cost 1.2, 2.2, 1.2 and 1.2 for 4 years instead of 4 million for the next 2 years.

Sounds like the Bruins are ready with a deal for Krug. Better not be for more than 4 a year.

Not sure I like this at all. He doesn't play against other teams top 2 lines nor the PK.
Arron Ward confirms - Krug signs 4 years 5.25 per.

Here's to Seids, a good man a good teammate a good bruin. Going to miss the thump he provided back there.

I like the term of Krug, salary could be good if he continues to develop. He is only 25, could get better, but not bigger unfortunately.
I raise a glass to Seids, hell of a player. Just a casualty of the business side of hockey.

Kinda wanted Seids bought out now feel bad for the Guy .. Krug deal ho hum .. They had to sign Krug. On this team, he is a top 4. And he's got great attitude and drive. Unfortunately, it feels like a PC 'slight' overpayment. Grrrrr

Wow. 5.25 for Tory Krug, who would've thunk it. Welcome to the core. Now get him some legit top 4 talent to play with.

Unfortunately, it feels like a PC 'slight' overpayment. Grrrrr As of today he is the 34th best paid dman in the league (after tomorrow probably in the 40's once the insanity starts) but production is top 25. Can be argued we got a bit of a discount the last couple of deals for Mr Krug and the cost does go up when you start to eat up potential UFA years (2 in this case). Don't mind the deal, heart/soul guy as you mentioned and entering his prime contribution years throughout this deal. Rather this signing than getting a 30 year old for these or more dollars knowing the decline is only a season or two away. Loved Seids but not upset with the move.

What will SweeNeely do today....please be something smart! They better had. I read some article that was talking about the teams with cap space, their current needs and possible plans. All the teams they mentioned were linked to one, or several FAs, or speculative deals that would improve them, but the status they listed for Boston was 'adrift'. And unless Sweeney pulls off a couple of coups, then that is exactly how I see this team as well. Two drafts, two trade deadlines and soon to be two FA periods into his tenure and I am still trying to figure out what his master fucking plan is.

Just read they are in serious talks with........Liles....BFD. Oh wow...there's a game changer. I suppose even if we do somehow manage to bring in a 1/2 guy on defense, having Liles as a depth guy on a short term/money contract wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

This just in- Don Sweeney announces he signs Don Sweeney to a 8 year, 48 million dollar deal. He expects himself to be a first line pair with Zdeno Chara. He is also rumored to be in negotiation with his ex Bruin "legend" Vladamir Ruzicka. Vladamir was unavailable for comment because he was busy harvesting barley somewhere in Latvia, or is it Lithuania? A Glen Murray/Jozef Stumpel deal is in the works.

yes they have to overpay...yes he's oldish...yes it sounds great like when we signed marty lapointe and i know he didnt live up to things.
but i think this is a good signing...maybe the deal isnt but the bruins got a big name guy that is what they want in a player.
curious to see what else they do.

Boston still has 8.5 million in cap space. None of it should go to Russel, Schultz or Schenn.

I don't think we should offer sheet Trouba or anything but I do think Sweeney should be in constant contact with Cheveldayoff until he crumbles.
