glad I missed this one. Anything good come out of this game yeah it should end the talk of getting rid of Chara..... God we sucked a big fat egg. team got absolutely nothing going. No sustained pressure, no crushing body checks. A goalie who couldn't stop a beach ball. A defense that at times looked so lost I think they were already in Montreal. Bergy's line the only line doing anything that resembled hockey players and you can't expect them to produce each and every game.....God we stunk! does that help? So anything Good? yeah Burke looked like a genius for picking up Kessel in the that trade.

That was as bad as it's been for a long time. On the surface it was one bad game but in reality we are a thin team and we don't even have a physical element to our game anymore to fall back on. I like what Griffith has done so far but he can't even come close or be expected to replace Iggy/Horton. The Bergeron line is as very good, no complaints there. Soderberg and Eriksson can be a factor but not with pylon Fraser fucking them up. Why Gagne is skating on the fourth line ahead of Florek is beyond me. The brass said they wanted more skill on the fourth line, at least Thornton brought physicality and caused turnovers. Gagne loses most of his puck battles, he doesn't show any higher hockey sense or anything so I'm not sure how long more they continue this experiment. Where's Chris Bourque when you need him?(sarcasm) Send him down for a month and give him a big role in Providence and see if he can cut it.
I expect it'll be more of the same tonight.

A game like this can really put things into perspective. A loss like this should squash the thoughts of trading Chara.

A loss like this should squash the thoughts of trading Chara. the thing with chara is this...when his contract is up...when ever that is and he wants to play until he is 50 years old....what do you think PC will do? i think he is going to extend him like everyone else and then they are totally f'd. i would trade him and get a boat load of booty. but what do i know.

What the %$#@ was that?
The sports stations here are running a comedy montage of the Bruins players falling down over each other in warmup, and again before the period start.
If the Bruins pull this garbage tonight and lose, some of them should be worried because playing like clowns and losing back to back to Toronto and Montreal won't sit well.

He has a NMC until the end of 2018 where that last year he only makes $4,000.000 until then it's $6.9. He is going NOWHERE!!!! thank god!!!

I can't say I am surprised that the Bruins finally shit the bed in a game without Chara this season. Add in Krejci out and it was a recipe for disaster waiting to happen and it unfortunately happened against the loafs.
With the injury situation the Bruins have I am not even going to remotely worry about the game. I have said and still say that this is going to be an off season for the Bruins and that they will not to much. Too many holes, too many kids, too little cap room left to do anything about it this season.
This is the year we will know if some of the youth have it or not.

They seem to have found a beat in that muscle in their chests called a heart. They are getting better and teams that underestimate them like i think the Bruins did last night was a big mistake.

Injuries or not, there is no excuse for the complete lack of effort we saw last night. None. If you going to get burned, at least do it with your best effort.

Let em have their fun.

Down 2-0, 3-0, 4-0, 5-0 to Toronto and nobody drops the gloves or a rough or board or something....

Down 2-0, 3-0, 4-0, 5-0 to Toronto and nobody drops the gloves or a rough or board or something.... the good ol days are over. i dont feel bad about falling asleep and missing hockey anymore. its not the good times. now the game is just getting stupid. giant goalies, no fights trying to find stuupid ways to make scoring go up. teams everywhere. little punks diving around. cant do anything to them. just brutal.

Toronto doesn't really have any fighters anymore, Orr and McLaren gone. Boston would have trouble finding willing opponents. Plus Toronto didn't do anything really dirty to warrant a scrap. Bruins could not even muster very many decent hits. Last night, Toronto was just better, faster, smarter, worked harder.
Bruins can attempt to redeem themselves tonight, but The Bitter Man fears more of the same old, same old vs MTL. And saying the Bruins "wanted to beat MTL so bad, they ended up playing their worst" doesn't cut it anymore.

Question which is more binding no trade or no movement? No movement is more binding. With NMC not only can't you trade 'em, you can't even send 'em down to the minors. No Trade still allows you to demote to the minors and get the money off of your cap hit.

No Trade still allows you to demote to the minors and get the money off of your cap hit. Plus, if the player has to clear waivers to go down they are sure to end up with a non-playoff team if they still have value. That threat can make people with no trade clauses a little more flexible with who they will waive to go to.
