What a difference it makes to have two stars inserted into the lineup and not to mention Ullmark having a fantastic game. Also I might be forced to eat crow on my opinion of Ullmark, he’s definitely not the same guy I saw the first 4 months of the season. Anyway, more scoring chances, no pp goals but a lot more looks than the last three weeks and from top to bottom there was more jump in their step. Good game, let’s keep it going.

Found this… A little number crunching. In 37 starts Ullmark has allowed 2 goals or less in 20 of them. Swayman has allowed 2 goals or less in... 20 of them 4 goals or more. Swayman: 8 times, Ullmark: 6 times Ullmark has not posted a shutty this year. Sway has posted 3

I like Swayman more but with youth comes inconsistency but I like his fundamentals more. He looks calmer, tracks pucks better, his rebound control is better and moves in a more controlled manner. Ullmark on the other hand who I had wrote off earlier in the season is coming on. Not sure if all the credit goes to Bob Essensa but he’s not flopping as much, he moves from side to side under good control compared to the first few months and his glove is improving. Also the one thing where he is light years better than Swayman is his ability to move the puck, both decision making and passing ability. Sway is much younger, I’m sure he’ll improve on this. As of today I’d start Ullmark in game 1 but I might change my mind before the season is over. I think it’s that close.

I honestly had Swayman ahead a little while a go , but I have since changed my mind 🤷♂️
