In the past I gave Ullmark a really hard time about not being a goalie that stops breakaways or makes the big save when we need it but my goodness he has been great this year in that regard! Ullmark seemed like he was really getting his game together middle of last season and has been great ever since..What seemed like a wierd signing at the time turns out to be maybe a bargain at 5 million if this keeps up!!

It is probably best case scenario for DS that it falls this way. What would we have done if Swayman was carrying the load and was due a new contract? Two goalies making 5 million each? Would have been a disaster!

He’s a totally different guy this year. Last year he looked clumsy, he scrambled around like Timmy Thomas and he never tracked pucks well. This year so far none of that is true, he’s been great.

Is it fair to say he adjusted to the D and system deployed by the Bruins?

Is it fair to say he adjusted to the D and system deployed by the Bruins? I’d say it’s a bunch of stuff. Let’s be honest, our current system or maybe just our players adjusting to our current system has proven to be very porous at best. Ullmark is playing great while facing very high danger chances. I’m thinking Bob Essensa worked with him for an entire season, slowly changed some of his fundamentals and gave him homework over the summer. He probably had his offseason regiment of training changed up. I’m with KSJ, Ullmark improved as last season progressed but I find this season it’s like night and day. He looks more in control and quicker. I just hope it keeps up. I like going with the hot hand but it’s time to get Sway back in plus we have a back to back anyway.

That one game he played in the postseason compared to Swayman good playoff sorta puts a black mark on Ullmark last season..Once 2022 turned the calender year, Ullmarks play vastly improved and Jan-Feb he had a realy good run along with Swayman..Big reason why Bruins had an excellent 2nd half to last season.. I just hope he continues to play great BUT as KJC mentioned, Swayman needs to get on track and with another back to back, we should see him Thur or Friday..I thought our defense played it's best game last night also..Lindholm is JUST what we need while Mac is on the mend and so far our offense is playing great without Marchand..If top 2 lines get/stay in a groove, changes will have to come once Marchand returns.. While it's great Boston is 6-1 and playing great, we gotta remember things can go sour pretty quickly..When the boys do have a bit of a slide, hopefully it wont last long..Montgomery likes to give huge minutes to players like Pasta and Bergy while only playing Greer 8 minutes a game. They need scoring from all 4 lines and while I realize the coach knows what he's doing and I'm only a regular fan, I loved when all 4 lines were contributing..Greer had 5 pts in his first 4 games, Foligno 3 goals 1st 5-6 games but seems like their minutes are gradually declining..BUT they're winning so maybe its appropriate for this to fall on deaf ears, haha..
