Just watched the highlights. A win is a win. Next. I flew through it last night on the DVR. You know I won't complain about a shutout victory! Need to beat the piss out of the Leafs on Saturday now!

Maybe not a measuring stick type of game but a good blue collar effort against a hard working team trying to be their best.

A win is a win and I liked some parts of that game, definitely liked the Marchand-Poitras-Heinen line. But it’s still fair to say that we still have plenty of those dumb breakdowns happening, a strong team probably could have buried us in the first. Nice job by Sway as well.

I really liked Poitras on the Heinen goal. Grabs the high lob attempt right out of the air, digs in deep, controlled the puck, fought off TWO SJ players and slid it over to Heinen for the easy one-timer! I still think Heinen is too soft but hey he can slide up and down the lineup here and there and produce so can't complain too much about him last night!

Ory, Heinen's game hasn't changed much since his first go round with Bruins BUT he's getting tons of scoring chances.14 games he has 3 goals 4 assists, could be even better with a little luck..I thought his defensive game was really good last night and he's a +5 on the season..Yea soft as he is, he's still a pretty smart player, sees the ice good.. Also nice to see Jake score his 4th..Doing better after being stuck on 1 goal for awhile..3 goals his past 5 games, Bruins REALLY need him going and Monty is giving him lots of icetime too.. Coyle and Zacha are both producing at a good pace..JVR, Beecher and Poitras are all pleasant surprises so far. They both have 19 pts in 22 games, same as Marchand..And both are above .500 in FOW which is a critical stat and so far they're holding their own..Beecher is actually even better in FOW so good on him..

Think he’s realizing he can excel at this level. They were talking about set face off plays for the first time. Boy do I miss that.

Poitras won 5 of 10 faceoffs last night..I think he'll improve in that area as the season moves along..I know its a long season ahead but if he can continue to improve in the FO dot and finish with 35-40 points, that would be a really good rookie season.. VERY interesting stat when comparing Bergy's rookie season with Poitras's.. Poitras after 22 games..5 goals 6 assists for 11 points Bergy after 22 games... 6 goals 8 assists for 14 points Bergeron finished his rookie season playing 71 games with 16 goals 23 assists for 39 points..Pretty close compare. Here's the gamelogs for Bergeron rookie season www.espn.com/nhl/player/gamelog/_/id/2280/year/2004

I think Brad and Poitras should be kept together for a while, I really think Brad can get the most out of this guy. If he’s having a down day Brad can drag him into a battle and teach him to dig deep and take no nights off. I was thinking about Taylor Hall the other day, I see him now as window dressing like Phil Kessel was his whole career but Hall was a beast in junior and competitive as they come. Maybe he wasn’t surrounded by the right people, Brad could be the guy for Poitras, we want him to develop with an edge and a compete level of Marchand or Bergeron.

Wish he didn’t have to be a cap casualty.

I feel the same about Hall and getting piss all in return didnt help the matter..Yea it was a cap save but looking at what the CBH got, he was at least worth a decent prospect or maybe a 3rd rounder which is a 2nd pick on a top tier team..

I probably sounded a little disrespectful on Hall but I just don’t put him in a Marchand class career wise when talking about compete level or clutch moments. He has all the talent in the world but not a ton of big moments to me.
