Monte gets so much credit for last year’s regular season and he should because it was historic. Just for a little perspective though, Monte inherited from the previous season some huge upgrades from what Butch had available. First of all the inevitable new coach message and bounce from the players but beyond that he got Krejci back, a full year of Lindholm, the Zacha upgrade, Hall actually getting his highend center back and Monte having the flexibility of breaking up the perfection line and putting Debrusk in a great position to succeed.
This is not a post to crap on Monte but this year he has a whole different animal. No Bergeron and Krejci which makes the remaining 4 wingers less of a threat. No Hall and I won’t include our deadline additions from last year that are gone. This team is thin, our goalies have really boosted our record much higher than it should be. Florida and the Leafs are coming like a freight train. The injuries are starting to pile, let’s see how Monte deals with this next stretch.

After Swayman having to take the loss last game coming in for an injured Ullmark, I doubt his confidence is at an all time high..I would throw Bussi right into the fire and see how he reacts..But playing the SC champs, its understandable I guess to go with your best netminder..Haha just like me, answering my own question..Maybe Bussi next game>??

I remember back in the Summer there was chatter about who the next Captain of the Bruins would be Some wanted Mac others said Marchand and when the dust settled it was Marchand. He has exceeded my expectations as Captain by a mile he leads by example every game . MacAvoy has been in my doghouse right from the start of the year, on many nights when Marchand could use a hand to pull this team out of the ditch he is missing or making it worse . Pasta is part of the core going forward has shown a ton of improvement physically and puts in the effort, yes defensively he still has work to do overall is earning his keep . I need a lot more from MacAvoy no excuses for this Guy .

Great post from both of you..I really expected McAvoy to have a career season, maybe even in the running for the Norris but he's made SO many bad plays its getting ridiculous..He plays top minutes and we all expect him to make mistakes but it seems every game he makes several. And it dont help that Lindholm hasnt been the same since his injury last seasons playoffs..I think Monty is in over his head..Boqvist scores his 1st goal of the yr and he's on top line?? Not sure whats going on with JVR, not even halfway through season and he seems winded to me like its March month..Things are not looking good going into 2nd half of season for sure, hope something happens to change that!!

Freddy speaks really highly of JVR’s off ice regiment saying all he does is workout and take care of his health .

I honestly expected this to be a shit kicking, but they played pretty well across the board. My major complaint is, when you're 3 hours behind, is it too much to ask to either win, or lose in fucking regulation? Good Lord, this has been a long week!!

The only goal Vegas scored in regulation was on a horrible call on Heinen , the Officiating was garbage it’s getting rare to seeing a game with competent Officiating.
