Huge two points up for grabs before the west coast trip. K Miller possibly back..... J Hayes 0 points last 8 games, getting to be time to give someone else a look on that line.

Put Connolly in there and bring Randell in for the fourth line. Or just take Hayes out and bring up Frankie V for LW and put Louie on the right side.

I swear a part of it is Claude not making his GM look bad on the deal. Love to see Connolly get a chance there, lots of speed, skill and brawn with that trio.

Very good first, I'd like a couple of more goals to feel comfortable though.

Nice string of games (12 out of possible 14 pts) heading into a tough 4 game road trip (and 8 of next 9 on the road). Hope we can pick up at least 4 points over the next 10 days

Nice win, I got to admit I was worried there for awhile. We had a very good territorial edge but couldn't get enough good chances. Rask was strong again and Pasta is warming up.

There is some Hamilton guy in Calgary that is currently their highest paid D'man, 4th in time on ice among D and worst plus minus on the team. I didn't mention softer than baby shit, is that who?

The Bruins had the most points in the NHL since the Feb. 29 trade deadline (10), and neither Boston or New York had a regulation loss in March entering Saturday. ... Bruins after the win are currently 5th overall in points in the league!
Injury prone Malkin out 6-8 weeks..
Great win for the boys against a very good young team who lost for the 1st time in regulation since the trade deadline. It's getting to the point where I'll be very disappointed if they don't win 1st round of playoffs. They're gonna be a damn good team to play against and now playing much better at home, finally getting to .500

We all talked about the brutal March schedule yet here we are, March will be half gone by the time they play their next game and so far in March they are 5-0-2 so far. The toughest is probably yet to come but right now, they're almost guaranteed a playoff spot and all the road games coming up, the home team is just as concerned over the Bruins, who are 23-7-3, tied for #1 in the league. Identical road record as the Capitals. Are they a Cup contender?? 5th best in points although most have games in hand. I guess there's 16 contenders every year. But I doubt you'll find a team in the East hoping for a match up against the Bruins.

For all the optimism ( and you all know I love my koolaid) when I watch them play I can see the need for improvement. They aren't there yet but it's coming along nicely. Defence is still a weak point need to tighten that up. Still. Spending way to much time in their own end. And phsical play could be more of that. But on a positive note we aren't gonna be any healthier then we are right now so.... Time to build some chemistry with line up?we have but maybe it's time for Hayes to look down from the press box. Most time he's useless.

Most time he's useless. They're better than they were, have holes but are playing much better than they have at any point this season. Picking up points does mask some of the deficiencies but I don't see those as any worse than any other team in the East that isn't Washington. Also, after many months with his head in his ass, Rask has come around to stealing games when needed (something he rarely did last season and through a good chunk of this season). He needs to be that guy on occasion.

I think we're good, I give us a decent chance against everybody in the east but the Caps are a different animal. Right now the Caps feel like they are king of the hill and they are. Julien has to find something to exploit a weakness, something in their game to breakdown and give them serious doubt. If things go right for the Bruins we don't see them until the third round and a lot of things can change after two tough rounds.
Tampa Bay are also very much a problem, they have a better team than us on paper.

They're probably going to glide into the playoffs. In the meantime, whoever finished with wildcard #2 will be playing post season hockey from here on out. They might very well upset the Capitals being more prepared. We had it happen to us. and I think Pittburgh after losing Malkin for 6-8 weeks might be that 2nd seed. But cant forget that Caps have one of the best coaches in the league albeit very little playoff success. But now he has a team with very little holes so likely he'll have them prepared.

Leafs do Bruins a surprisingly HUGE favor by beating the Wings in Detroit 1-0..Bruins HAVE to at least stay in top 3 in their division to avoid any chance of playing Capitals early, possibly 1st round if they finish 8th. .500 the rest of the way pretty much guarentee a top 3 finish.
