meanwhile PC's oilers are playing good hockey...what a kick in the proverbial NUTS. how frustrating is all this? It's not an accident, PC knows what the fuck he's doing. They got Connor McJesus yes but they got tough (Lucic,Kassiaan,Maroon) and they added D. He's not perfect but he has a plan he works it into place. If you're not putting yourself in a cap crunch your just not trying. I was dead against PC leaving and now look at what we got. Both our AHL goalies are not NHL ready, maybe never ever will be NHLers, our D is like Swiss cheese and we can't score. Sweeney can hope for some of his picks to come to fruition but he can be unemployed and wait home on the couch. Our good players, the few that we still have know this team is a bubble team or worse. They'll do their job but you won't see any hunger or inspired play, there's no point, if we can't ice a better team we're not relevant. Sweeney won't survive another dismal year, he needs to look at Trouba and Linholm and pay through the nose for one of them. A major trade won't salvage this team but at least it will shore up our biggest weakness and you have to start somewhere. I'm ready for a complete overhaul, coaching, front office and on the ice. i just know i dont enjoy watching anymore...i dont care if i miss games.. that nvr happened before in my life.

It's much more difficult to watch a weak team stumble though a season when just a very short time ago we were a legit contender. That plus watching contemporaries like LA, CHI and PITT all remain relevant and continuing to win Cups. This is what frustrates me most, I think. I suppose there are two small consolations - 1) VAN is as big of a mess as we are and 2) the Scabs Cup drought stands at 23 years and counting.

Unfortunately PC picked our future goalies. He never picked a good defenseman other than Hamilton and he is not turning out so friggen good.

PC inherited a jumble of players when he signed here, he made some good and bad moves but he had a sense of what he wanted the team to look like and he executed a plan just like he's doing in Edmonton. The mess Sweeney inherited was PC's mess but my point is PC has cleaned up messes before and he could have easily got us back on the rails if Cam hadn't run him out of town. I know PC is gone and people are tired of talking about it but until Sweeney actually does something or is fired, PC's name is bound to keep popping up especially now that he appears to have the Oilers rolling.

PC likes big heavy teams which he built here, Donny seems to be going the speed route which if fine if you have the talent . We are stuck with young guys learning and old guys failing not sure any panic moves are needed yet ..This team will be under construction for a few years no matter who is the GM , best thing going forward is a high draft pick ..

PC LIKE Rutherford HAS inherited a team that was stocked W/picks from previous GM's. I mean C'mon how many #1's can 1 team have & STILL miss playoffs??? Sooner or later even the blind squirrel finds the nut! We ALL bitched about PC's moves, contracts & how he put us in cap hell. Now he's the answer??? Yes he brought the cup back, BUT he wasn't building any dynasty either. 7 gms in and the season is over??? It's a marathon not a sprint!! Jesus!!!! NO I have NOT been able to watch more than 2 gm (live) so far, BUT that changes after Friday off that fucking 3:30-midnight bullshit schedule:-)

Not helping Pastrnak's cause was the analyst on TH 2Nite (Craig Button)was trying to tie this hit to the Cooke hit on Savard.

When you watch the hi-lites, look at where the Bruins players are when they get scored on. Too far out of position and a second late. way too disorganized - even the vets. Hardly looks like a Julien team.
Too inexperienced or severely under talented?
I heard a coach once say that repeated mistakes on D follow a progression. First an inexperienced but capable D-man is caught way out of position when his team is scored upon. With more exp he is just a little out of position. With even more exp he is a second or two late, then a blink of an eye late before finally being where he should be and preventing some goals.

Pool night last night. I get to the bar and I see the Bruins game is on the screen. Big bonus! No sound... but then they focus on the goalie and up pops the name Daniel Vlader? I just about shit! Then on closer looking I saw that it was the Providence sweater! LOL.
So the PBruins and Marlies were on one of the screens last night. At least I didn't have to watch the big boys collapse!

I just read that Dan Giradi stated the hit wasn't to the head but rather to the face. Pasta rarely takes a penalty or throws a hit so its crazy he's getting a call..I'm convinced if he never wore a Bruin jersey, it would of been considered nothing. How the fuck do Emilin, Markov and Shaw never get punishment when they're throwing dirty hits every night??

What was up with Pasta last night. I've only seen TSN highlights but it looks like he pasted Vesey into the boards after he scored. Was that him?
Bs bottom 6 have nothing going on. I've watched most of the games and I don't recall Hayes, Beleskey, Nash, Accari even have a good opportunity to score. They are creating nothing. I'll cut Accari some slack as he is a rookie and he plays with some grit. Not a very fun team to watch outside of Marchand and Pasta.

Lots of GM's take over good teams and try to implement their big master plan and manage to make things worse. I agree on Rutherford, I don't think he has a clue anymore but he still had Malkin, Crosby and Letang to fall back on and I think they got very lucky that Fleury got hurt and Matt Murray stole the show. PC inherited plenty of the core he worked with but he kept the right guys and he brought in people to fill in our areas of weakness. (Horton, Ryder, Seids, Kelly, Thornton, Recchi, Paille and Campbell) Also said I didn't want PC gone, that's not saying I wanted him back, that ship has sailed. If Sweeney has a five year plan and has the green light to execute it then power to him but I just can't see what he's up to. Chara is done already and in three years Bergeron and Krejci won't be top centers that you can hang your hat on anymore. All I see is Sweeney wanting badly to compete for a playoff spot but no real idea how to get us beyond that low expectation.

He did welcome the rookie to the league much like he was time and again, yup seems to have more edge this year. Didn't see it but apparently finished solidly on Bergy in the WHC. Too many holes right now. Both goalies, couple of your more experienced Ds, Krug and Krejci's slow start and 2 top 6 forwards, yeh don't forget Frankie V. Gotta stick together and claw and scratch for as many points possible. Think Accari could handle more responsibility.

that is BS all the way. You keep your head up in big boy hockey. Quit batting the puck out of the air. that was a clean hit every day of the week.

I think the principal point was chest area. Maybe a little face on the follow through but you always go up after contact. Nothing wrong with that hit.
We're are damned in the Canadian media when it's a Canadian team and we are damned on NBC when it's the beloved Rangers.

So is Pasta getting suspended or not?? It's fucking crazy just to think of it. Giradi didn't even say anything bad about the hit, saying he got it in the face, not the head. So stupid the crap Bruin fans have to put up with!!

Most of this is just frustration on my part but I think Sweeney had all summer to work on getting blue line help. When Rask gets back and Backes returns we'll be better but I see that as moving from absolutely horrible up to average. Who knows, maybe he pulls the trigger on a deal soon.
