Maybe go back to the old blue print, put Hayes with Bergy leave the other lines alone. Must admit, Hayes playing with a little swag tonight. But he still sucks.

I'm really enjoying this game. Back and forth. 2 great goalies and that Carlo is something to watch. Chara lucky to have him covering his ass.

Rask was awesome, that's the only positive I took from that game. Tough way to lose two points, hoping we'd hang in there for 1 at least.

the challenging offsides HAS to go. it ruins the game. if the linesmen miss it cuz of the speed of the game and the closeness of the play then so be it. you gotta look at the video and then have to put time back on the clock.
and they only challenge it if there is a goal...why not challenge every single potential offside.? i hate it.

A tale of two teams this year and last - last year we could score, had a great PP, an OK PK, so so goaltending and a shitty defense. This year we can't score to save our lives, a PP that looks OK most nights (when we actually get one), but rarely scores, a decent PK, stellar goaltending and a defense that is looking better than it probably should. At some point, it would be nice to see them pull it all together.

What was the goal like ?? Backes Slightly loses control of the puck going in the zone putting himself offsides and another. Couple of passes later a shot from the point gets through and into the net, through a Backes screen maybe getting a piece of it.

they got rid of the two line pass...they should get rid of offside. but once you are in the zone the puck cant come out of the offensive zone. that would be the same. just my thought.
if you had cherry pickers it would open the game up and you get more scoring.

It's funny, the Minnesota crew were all focused on the back foot of our guy not touching the ice (which it wasn't) but didn't even notice Krejci putting himself offside. I was drifting in and out of sleep myself last night, did Krejci get banged up? Not sure what happened to McQuaid just before that goal, he went down hard and struggled to get up and then helped the puck go in the net.

Did he have control of the puck?? Backes and Spooner were both offsides for sure.

Krejci is a bit different when it comes to stick handling, he seems to show the opposing players he doesn't quite have control and the second they lean in to take it he catches them off balance.

Did Chara improve after the first period?? He improved but he set the bar pretty low in the first. I think only marginally better.

I just watched the whole McQuaid thing in front of our net. Nash came in and bumped Koivu(not hard) Koivu went down and conveniently took both McQuaids skates out with his stick. McQuaid hit his head very hard, slow to get up and I think he was still foggy when the puck hit his skate. Should have been called but cleverly disguised by the FIN!

Absolutely, he's not flashy at all but quietly takes care of business very effectively. I haven't heard any of the talking heads up here bring his name up but they'll take notice eventually.
