Played 18 last week and shot a bad 100. There's a course around here I never played with 5 par 5's. Got a 9 and a 10 on two of them. If not for those holes, I shoulda shot around a 93 which would have made me happy (Yes, I play boggie golf LOL). Shot a bad 47 earlier today on a 9 I've played a bunch of times. There's always 2 or 3 double/triple bogies that sneak on to the scoresheet.

THREE IN A ROW FOR THE GATOR!!! chesterbears slump continued as gator prevailed for a third consecutive match, 78 to 81. this gives gator a 3-1 lead for the season. both of us were lousy on the front nine, carding 42's, but gator came to life on the back nine, shooting a 1 over 36. the bear could not match that, hacking and slashing his way to a 39. even chad got caught up in the sucking as he had an 80. so gator won a bunch of cash on this day. better luck next week, but as i have stated before, this is the year of the gator. i expect the dominance to continue!

Well the Gator and the Bear both sucked on friday but the Gator sucked worse .The Bear makes the series 3-2 for the Gator with a victory last night.Final scores were Bear 83-Gator 86.The only bright spot for the night was when the Bear sunk one out of the bunker on #16 for birdie, since we play for lonnies for sand saves, birdies and chip ins,the Bear made 3 bucks from everyone for the shot,9 bucks in total for 1 shot ,not bad eh Gator--you suck

Played the worst 9 of my life the other day. Shot a 57! My buddies I play with all knew it just wasn't my day. Every drive was a slice, and 5 out of 9 holes I ended up tight up against the back of a tree. Stuck in roots and shit. Chips were short or long, and overall a really shitty day. I launched my driver about 150 yards after my last drive, and even that missed the fucking fairway and landed in the rough. ;D

Yeah...Phil has had success at Torrey Pines just like Tiger has...
I like how they are playing in the same pairing on Thursday along with Adam Scott...

That might be the one thing that could screw Phil up. I don't believe he likes to play in the same group as Tiger. Feels there are too many distractions.

Subject: golf story A man goes to a public golf course.
He approaches the man behind the counter in the pro shop and says, 'I would like 18 holes of golf and a caddie.'
The man behind the counter says, 'The 18 holes of golf is no problem, but all of the caddies are out on the course. What I will do for you is this: We just received 8 brand new robot golf caddies. If you're willing to take one with you out on the course and come back and tell me how well it works, your round of golf is on me today.'
The golfer obviously accepted the man's offer.
He approached the first tee, looked at the fairway and said to himself, 'I think my driver will do the job.'
The robot caddie turned to the man and said, 'No sir. Use your 3 wood. A driver is far too much club for this hole.'
Hesitantly, the golfer pulled out his 3 wood, made good contact with the ball, and the ball landed about 10 feet to the right front of the hole on the green.
The golfer, delighted, turned to the robot and thanked him for his assistance.
As the golfer pulled out his putter he said, 'I think this green is gonna break left to right.'
The robot then again spoke up and said, 'No sir. I do believe this green will break right to left'
Thinking about the last time the robot corrected his prediction, he decided again to listen to the machine.
He made his putt and birdied the hole thanks to the robot and his advice.
But his luck didn't end there. His entire game was the best game he ever played, thanks to the assistance of the new robot golf caddie.
Upon returning to the clubhouse, the man behind the counter asked, 'How was your game ?' The golfer stated, 'It was, by far, the BEST game I ever played. Thank you very much for letting me take one of your robots.
See you next week.
A week passed, and excited, the golfer returned to the pro shop.
Upon entering, he turned to the man behind the counter and said, 'I would like 18 holes of golf and one of those robot golf caddies, please.'
The gentleman from behind the counter turned to the man and said, 'Well the 18 holes is no problem. However, we had to get rid of the robots. We had too many complaints.'
Confused, the golfer cried, 'COMPLAINTS? Who in the heck could've complained about those robots? They were incredible'
The man sighed and said, 'Well, it wasn't their performance.
It was that they were made of shiny silver metal, and the sun reflecting off them was blinding to other golfers on the fair way. '
The golfer said, 'So then why didn't you just paint them black?'
The man nodded sadly and replied, 'We did. Then four of 'em didn't show up for work, two filed for welfare, one of them robbed the pro shop, and the other is running for President.'

Well I have not been on lately to keep you all posted of what is going on in the world of golf up here. The course is starting to get in prime shape and me and the Gator have been idle for the past two weeks but we will get it on this friday again.I have been on the mixed tour with my wife for the past two weekends.Last week was are annual tournament at our course,we finished tied for overall low net and had to go to a 3 hole playoff with a couple from away,we had to give them 2 strokes on the 3 holes we played and they went par, par, birdie and we went bogey, bogey bogey,so we would have had to go 3 birdies in a row just to play an extra hole,I think these people are the true meaning of sandbaggers, good experience for the wife though, she was nervous as hell and had a hard time.Last weekend we went to Shelboure to play in their mixed and shot 86,86 both days and did not win anything but had lots of drinks and lots of seafood, real fun weekend. This week life is back to normal and I cant wait to kick Gators ass again and take a lock on the season series which stands at 4-3 for the Bear.

My son (9 years old) and I played in a father/son tourney this weekend down on the Cape. It is a nice par 3 course. We were in the 10 and under age group. We ended up finishing in 3rd place out of 16 teams. My son also won closest to the pin(9 feet). Of course I was nervous as hell asa I didn't want to dissappoint him. He didn't have a care in the world...he played great! Fun time for the both of us,

hi everyone
golf update! me and chesterbear won our clubs 2-ball (alternate shot) tournament in early august by a shot. i was fortunate enough to win our club championship by 2 shots over chesterbears son lyndon 2 weeks ago. this weekend is our yearly match play competition against osprey ridge golf club. they have kicked our ass for the last few years so i was hoping to win this year, but we have quite a hill to climb today playing the singles matches on their course. yesterday was the partners matches in chester and we are behind 4 to 2. we need 7 1/2 pts today to win, but if we play well anything could happen. the season long friday night battle between me and chesterbear has tightened up with the bear leading 6 to 5. hope all is well with y'all, ttyl.

Thought I would bring this topic back up for 2008.We seemed to have some fun with it last year.Tiger seems to be back on the prowl this year{no surprise}.Waitng patiently for the snow to go and the weather to clear up so I can get back out there and play.Maybe this thread will bring The Gator out of retirement, looking forward to some good laughs again this summer buddy.Got a new wedge and a new putter for xmas and am looking forward to trying them out.Just been reading the new golf digest(march 2008 issue) and they have a article about the 50 best 19th holes in the country and one of them is from the boston area.It says (Granite Links--Quincey Mass--"Picture the hit tv show "cheers"(only Cliff and Norm play golf); devoted Boston sports fans drink next to local sports legends Bill Russel,Luis Ttiant and Ray Bourque, impressive view of the city,be prepared to defend any statement you make about golf, sports or life in general to a complete stranger".This sounds like my kind of bar to go to after a round. Who has been winning?
