They won 9 straight, lost 2 to the Royals and now on another winning streat at 6 games after beating the Cards tonight..With a 38-24 record, good for 3rd best in all of Baseball, they're getting good starting Pitching, good bullpen that's really picked it up here of late, one of the best closers in Baseball in Casey Jannsen and a ton of power in their offence. The team really gels and if a guy is having a bad game, Batista, Reyes or Laurie will have a little chat with him and you can really see him play better. Team seems to be a very tight knit bunch and having a lot of fun. Right now, they are 6 up on their closest rival in the East, that being the Yankee's and they play them 3 series time. I honestly believe with the depth they have this is gonna be a terrific season for them. Team that has completely fell apart and has almost the worst record in baseball are the Tampa Rays...Who seen that coming and that 10 game losing streal really hurt the Bo Sox who are currently 10 games behind the Jays, but still only 4 behind the Yankee's.
Who agree's with me that after playing 162 games, the wildcard is decided by ONE friggin game. They have time to play 162 games but cant take a couple days to make the wildcard at least a 2/3 game series. This isn't football. One of the stupidest format I have ever heard of. Would make for a good discussion here!!

Still hanging in there... trying to get to 50 wins for the All Star break, but injuries are showing that their depth is hurting.

Ok, seriously this time, How Bout those Bluejays??? Here we come Yankee's, deny it to the media all you want, it don't matter!!! I'm working downtown every day- right across from the Skydome (oops Roger's centre). It's a whole new vibe down here on game days- all kinds of bandwagon fans, but a lot of the old ones are coming out too. I'm seeing shirts with names of players that have been gone for 10 years as these fans pull the old team garb out of the back of their closets! Funny as hell.

but an ugly display by the fans. many around these parts no longer want the jays to win b/c of the fans. That would have happened in every stadium. There are asshole fans everywhere. Alcohol and the feeling that you've already been screwed over by the umps, disrespected by US media, MLB doesn't want you in the ALCS, and so on, as articulated by one Donald S. Cherry on Saturday night, fueled some small minded individuals to over-react to what was, ultimately, the right call. The Blue Jay players should be commended for trying to calm the situation and the vast majority will understand that the actions of a few should not taint the many. Batista's bat flip was purely driven by emotion as was Dyson's brush with Tulowitzki but in todays 24 hour news cycle these will be over analyzed to death. Man, society seemed to act more rationally when news was delivered by Pony Express.

What about the guy that got thrown out because a baby had beer splashed on him? now granted the beer throwing was asinine but bringing an infant to a ball game that you know is going to be loud and nuts? that's just plain nuts. you don't suppose the mother tried complaining that the crowd WAS TO NOISY to you???

Well your Jays made it to the show....at least for 1 game. The sox kind of fell asleep the last week. I think they spent more time worrying about Big Papi's ceremonies than playing. As long as they don't play the Jays I think they can get to the World Series.

As long as they don't play the Jays I think they can get to the World Series. Sox have been great. Kinda normal for them to drop off a bit once they clinched 1st. Jays are the kind of team that runs hot and cold. Like Earl Weaver used to say... "Pitching, Defence and the 3 run homer". They SHOULD be able to beat Baltimore, but it's only 1 game so anything can happen. Personally I would love to see it get to a BJ/RedSox ALCS. But first... they gotta win the 1 gamer.

Ails people? After working in bars for years, it never ceases to amaze me how tough some assholes are when they 10, or more feet away from whomever they're jawing with. Instant karma would have been seeing that prick slip and follow his beer onto the field while he was flapping his gums.
