They get a better look at Poitras. Anyone else get nervous when Forbort and Shatty goes on the offensive attack, I go on attack too, more like a heart attack..

I mean Shatty. I get mighty uncomfortable in our own end with him. Maybe with more reps at the system he will look a little more competent.

I do think Geekie has a lot more to give as well so a look up there should be a nice opportunity for him. I expect we will see a lot of line juggling still. Marchand played with Bergeron for so long - he really needs to find a groove with some new linemates. I hope we can still rack up the wins while we get it all figured out!

Geekie is silll only 25 years of age and If I had to choose 2 players to move up, it would be Poitras and Geekie..I did like that 3rd line with Frederic alongside those 2 but Poitras especially only got 7 games to prove what he can or cannot do..GOT to know what he can do NOW..Geekie has offensive talent and this would be a good time for him to show why DS gave him a 2yr contract..

Felt like we have been off for two weeks! Late one tonight! This might be a PVR candidate for our friends on the East Coast! The Sharks haven't got much going offensively yet so hopefully we can keep that rolling (4-1 loss to Vegas, 2-1 SO loss to Colorado, 6-3 loss to Carolina). Looking for big things from Marchand-Poitras-Geekie tonight.

Looking for big things from Marchand-Poitras-Geekie tonight. Thanks for update Ory, I'm expecting good things from that line..Seems to me that all Bruins organization is clinging on the hope that Poitras makes the team, he's being given every opportunity to succeed and theres only one person who can stop him, that being himself..With just 7 games remaining on his 9 game showcase, I'll really be surprised if he dont make it..He's doing ok in the faceoff circle, limited chances but went 7-7, Geekie shared FO's on his line and he went 8-3 while Freddy went 2-1 so overall our previous 3rd line went 17-11 for a 65% winning percentage, tops among the 4 lines..Coyle has the worst FO numbers going 16-21 BUT only 2 games.. Moving Poitras and Geekie is also good for Coyle as he can do what he has always done, dominate oppositions 3rd lines!! Connor Bedard has gone 13-34 in faceoff circle[27.7%] after 4 games..

Great point on Coyle. I think JVR in the bottom six is right where he belongs as well. I really like the look of the lineup tonight and I hope it sticks. Monty was talking about getting Mitchell and Brown both in the lineup as well so maybe that happens Sat/Sun depending on how things go tonight.

Ory, Going by Newfoundland time, Boston plays TWICE on Sunday, 12 midnight and 10pm...SO if game lasts 3 hr, thats only 19 hours between games..They play the Ducks latter game but they play Saturday evening at 5;30 NL time so they get alot more rest..Pisses me off that 2 games are so close together,.Thats why they need enforcements for that 2nd game..Like for them to rest at least 4 players but I highly doubt they can do that..I think Mitchell could be better than Shattenkirk but I dont have alot to go on so dont take much from that.. As for tonight?? I want a convincing win, my predicted score, 5-1 Bruins!! CANT WAIT to see how Poitras and Geekie does tonight..

*With Linus Ullmark having gone eight days without a start, Montgomery said it’s been critical to try to mimic game action as best as possible during practice “with a lot of drills with [shots] that he will see in a game.”
*Montgomery said that as the schedule begins to intensify, he is likely to mix in defenseman Ian Mitchell and forward Patrick Brown, both of whom have yet to see game action. “Absolutely. It’s early in the year,” he said. “We’ve only played two games but as we build, our schedule becomes more condensed with games, we’re going to have to move people in and out of the lineup.”
*Montgomery called Charlie Coyle a “consummate player” when asked about bumping the center down to the third line between James van Riemsdyk and Frederic. “All he cares about is winning, whatever he can do to impact the game to win,” said Montgomery. “His game doesn’t change whether I’m using him with Marchand or whether I’m using him with Frederic. That’s the beauty of him. I can move him anywhere and he’s gonna help the Bruins win hockey games.”

Nice first period. Shocked the Sharks didn't challenge JVRs goal.

I wasn’t overly impressed with our first period but we struck for a quick pair after the 18 minute mark. I’ll 2-0 after a period all day long.

Pasta with one of the luckiest goals of his career. Bruins in complete control after two periods. We’re winning the games we’re supposed to win but sometimes these games can bite you on the ass so credit to our boys. I can’t to high on it though, the Sharks are supposed to finish 32nd this year. I have to get used to the fact that we’re not going to have that high octane offence this year and just have win by out working the opposition every night. So far so good.

I'm really not impressed with tonights game and very anxious to see how they do against a strong team like LA and play again 19 hours later, messed up schedule..Yes 3-0 BUT only scored 9 goals in those 3 games.First bit of adversity for Poitras, only played 12 minutes, barely seen him 3rd period..Alot of pressure on him next game, he needs a strong game to ensure that he stays with team..Really rooting for the kid..Beecher on the ice in the last minute was great to see, he was only Bruins who won more faceoffs than he lost against SJ so good on him and congrats on 1st nhl point.

Still no chemistry offensively. Early on I could see every time Poitras got the puck he was instantly looking for Marchand and not looking at the entire ice that was available. I hate when young players defer to the veteran star, he needs to play his game. I was wrong, Poitras has the goods but he probably should go back to the third line and just play his game for awhile.
I thought Geekie looked okay with Marchand.
Coyle is working his ass off but I feel like he’s trying to do much, he’s making a lot of mistakes resulting in bad turnovers.
I know Monte likes to have an active D but it has to be situational. We had D pinching and playing down low in the O zone all night. To use a Butch saying, “you got to respect the game”.
We’ve played three weak teams so far and we won but we are no powerhouse, we got to keep improving.
Ullmark was excellent again, too bad he didn’t get the shutout.
