Not really sure what this dude expected from them as far as off season moves go. For those of us that follow and watch this team on a regular basis, I think most of us would agree that this team was in sore need of a refreshing. It would appear as though DS has set up the team for a smooth transition from the old guard to the new. Time will tell, of course, but I'd much rather go this route than throwing even more money at older FAs and being stuck with those contracts. Even if only 1/3 of the kids (I believe it will most likely be more than that) turn out to be NHLers, we'll still be in pretty good shape.

We have some talented young guys that can compete for two top six spots, why go out and spend a fortune when we already have a Bjork, Debrusk or Heinen that are ready to take a step. The only thing I agreed with was the scout saying "they might sneak up on some teams." Also how did Montreal get better, they may have reshuffled the deck but I think they are taking a step back. My preseason guess is that we make the playoffs.

Just reading your post makes me think we're gonna do better than last season cause you just gave us 2 reasons as to why, 2 things we didnt have last yr and the only real subtraction I can think of is Dominic Moore.. IF Beleskey and Backes shows improvement, especially Beleskey, we might very well win the division and also a couple rounds in playoffs.. I'll think of a couple of more reasons. Dominic Moore is definitely a loss and Beleskey, Backes and Vatrano can only improve on last years numbers. Jimmy Hayes is addition by subtraction. Carlo is bigger stronger and better than last year. We've added at least two skilled rookies maybe three. We have more depth and viable call ups. The past 3 years, we had between 93 and 96 points, almost all under Julien. Butch took the team to the finish line last season with an 18-8 record. Every card in the pack says the Bruins will get 100+ points this season. I already forgot about Ha ha Hayes. Most definitely addition by subtraction. Just so many reasons to be optimistic this season. Been awhile since I honestly felt we're gonna have more point than the Habs simply because we're the better team..Finishing ahead of the Habs is so very important to me..

I remember when I joined Twitter to follow Hockey media and get a ton of interesting articles, now every second tweet is about politics that's not what I signed up for .. Sports for Me is an escape from the real world for a few hours I look forward too , I hate when politics get dragged into sports and the sports media get involved..

I know what you're feeling brother..It's really beginning to piss me off.. Now Joe Ward is thinking about taking a knee during the American anthem..Fuck sake, he's Canadian and he should stay the hell out of it, in fact all the NHL should..Ward is black and taking a stand{or in this case a knee} because of the verbal abuse he takes from other players/fans because of his colour..I dont think he should be treated any different cause of the colour of his skin but I thought we were over that hump back in the 60's.. Anyway, thats it for me. All I'm talking about from here on out is HOCKEY AND BRUINS!!!!!!!

As much as I am not a fan of Sindy, or the Penguins, they are getting lambasted over their decision to go to the White House. Funny how one side, or the other seems to forget about how these things ALWAYS cut both ways in any situation. I've said before I think the whole professional sports teams going to the White House to get glad handed for being paid to win a championship is a joke at best and a fucking embarrassment at worst. But just like when TT decided not to go in 2011 (and all the other athletes from other sports who decided not to go over the years and all mostly for political reasons), the Penguins can go if they want. I couldn't give a rat's ass and to be honest, it wouldn't shock me in the least if they cave because of all the flack they're getting and decide to bail on the visit after all.

45 years ago today in Canada won the 72 Summit series against the Russians I remember it very well ..Everything stopped in Canada to watch the final game , in our elementary school each classroom listened to the game over the radio ..When Paul Henderson scored the winning goal the whole school erupted with cheers , it is a memory I will never forget ..Paul's house not far from where I grew up was decorated to welcome him home a Canadian Hero . It was a time when hockey players lived amongst us and made very little to play a game they loved , I miss those times ..

Yes sir, it was a great day for hockey, Canada, and all of North America, well except for Mexico who most probably cant tell what a puck is..I was hanging out with some friends and we all came back to my place just in time to watch 3rd period. Man, we cheered so loudly when Pauly scored..A true hero in our time..I'll never forget that on ice speech that Phil Esposito gave to the fans in Vancouver{ I think Van} after a loss to Russia and they practically booed Canada off the ice..THAT to me was the turning point. If Espo dont give that speech, do you think we still would of won?? This fan says no. Espo put the Canadian pride BACK into the dressing room and thats when the tables turned!!

DID ANYONE READ THIS?? I cannot believe there's no comments on it..Look where they have Bergeron listed in the top 23 Centremen. And you'll be stunned at some of the names that made it. BUT it was done the right way by going back 3 years on most players. Connor made the list although he only played 2 years..There's a write up on all 23 players. Bergeron and Krejci made the cut and when I seen where they were positioned, I just COULD NOT BELIEVE it was written by CANADA'S OWN SPORTSNET. And all Canadian media just love to hate the Bruins and make us look like the bad guys!! Gotta read this people!!!

Obviously it's great to see Krejci and Bergeron on that list but the ranking order is just awful. I'm an open minder person but for the numbers people, they really need to place less emphasis on the stats and watch more of the game. Numbers are a huge help but not the be all to end all.

So many lists out there and they all have their different parameters to justify the rankings. I know McDavid is the new face of the league but if the playoffs were to start tomorrow I'd rather go to war with Crosby than any other center on that list. Also my second choice would probably be Bergeron. I'd take Toews next and he didn't even rank I don't think. Guys like McDavid, Scheifele and Barkov will win awards and have their time but the vets know how to bring it when it counts.

The best way to evaluate Players and rate them properly is to poll the 31 GM's around the league. When media does it there looking for attention..

I have to agree with you there kjc but you have to admit, the "Numbers/Stats Game", you have to admit they bring interesting results..My biggest surprise was Barkov at #4...But as you said, you HAVE to watch them play on a regular basis to know just how good or bad a player is..I just got excited cause Bergie finally got a decent rating even though I would have him 2nd.. Crosby 1st, MacDavid 3rd.
