How about they just ignore Scott. Not like he has any real hockey talent. We don't have to fight Scott but if we don't play tough because of Scott we lose all credibility IMO. They can still play tough. I see no reason to engage him at all. The assholes like Ott, Cooke and that retired peckerhead like Avery are the ones who need to be dealt with.

Chara is a beast no doubt, but he's still awkward at times and falls easily - twice alone vs smaller Chris Neil. Fortunately, Scott's balance isn't great either. I watched a bunch of Scott fights the last couple of days and I've noticed a couple of things. First is that he is heavier, more seasoned and I think hits harder than when he did a few years ago. Second is that he really gets his opponents in trouble if he is able to maneuver them over to the boards.

Ott will fight the smaller Campbell again, so that takes care of that.
Kaleta on the other hand..? I say hit him over and over from the start BEFORE he starts his douchebag antics. Don't let him begin the feud - let his antics be a result of being hit.

Leafs drop another one at home to Carolina leaving their home record at an abysmal 1-4-0. It couldn't have happened to a nicer group of fans...

I love reading the comments on TSN after a Leafs loss simply for entertainment value. It's comments from Leafs fans like this that make me so happy to have traded Kessel.
"Congrats to Phil Kessel on his zero points and minus one. You know, it's great to see that he's still leading the league in shots/game. I mean, some players might consider passing when they're contributing absolutely nothing to their team's offense, but not Me-First Phil. Way to go, Phil! Many cheers!"

Leaf fans need a scapegoat. If it weren't Kessel, it would be somebody else.
I feel sort of bad for the guy being dumped on the all the Leaf moron fans and media stooges. And all the bullshit and HF revisionist history in the world won't make me believe Kessel is an a-hole. I'm not buying it.
And Randy Carlyle needs to get a grip and stop whining & blaming after the game.

In the grand scheme of it though Kessel isn't much use if he isn't scoring and has shown questionable leadership and a lack of team-first mentality. I don't neccessarily feel bad for Kessel because he made his own bed when he wanted out and wanted to go to Toronto. He has to sleep in it now and put up with all the shit and abuse from the Toronto media and fans (who are all terribly over critical). I'm sure Kessel will bolt again after his contract in Toronto is up and I don't blame him. I love Carlyle's excuses. He fits in perfect in Toronto.

Never mind Phil Dion the disaster trumps him. Last night when they were shorthanded he was totally out to lunch on the d-zone coverage. Watch a vidoe of the PP goal by E. Staal. Phaneuf was almost out at the circle and left the cross ice play in front of the goal wide open. The announcers had a few more highlights of him doing this at various points throughout the game.
Then go check out the d-zone coverage on the Canes first goal. 4 Buds in the corner and J Staal alone in front of the net. Isn't Carlisle supposed to be a defensive specialist.

Yeah, Phil was brought in to score goals and for the most part he has done that. The Leafs knew they were not getting a defensive specialist when they acquired him. Phaneuf on the other hand is a D-MAN. You would expect he would be able to play some DEFENSE... I love watching him have to fish his jock out of the stands or when he gets boo'd by the Leafs fans. As long as the Leafs try to build around these guys and have no goaltending, they can forget the playoffs for good. Outsiders look at that team and laugh. Why doesn't management pull the fucking trigger and do something?

Why doesn't management pull the fucking trigger and do something? there's a reason why Calgary got rid of him.. the Bruins have the exact same player in Boychuck who is 1000% tougher and w/o the ego.. The guy made a name for himself with big hits and a hard slapshot and thats it.. IMO Franson is probably the Laffs best D and they hardly play him. Kessel gets a bad rap by the fans in TO imo he is a streaky goal scorer who doesnt bring much else and with out a good supporting cast he is prety much alone on an island.. every team in the league knows Kessel is the only real talent the Leafs have its predictable that he gets the defensive attention and w/o a top playmaker to create chances he's going to struggle to create his own..

Speaking on Celine , He clears the puck off the glass the Ref takes in the Mouth thirteen stitches and two teeth later He returns .. By the way that Ref is back on the job tonight . Marc Joanette is Officiating the Leaf game again tonight

Sens 4-3 over the slumping Sabres And Leafs over slumping Capitals..Poor Kessel never scored again but had I believe 6 shots on goal..Man, I wish the hell Seguin would get going..Cant talk about Kessel's slump without mentioning Seguins..and what a time tomorrow for him to break out with a hattrick in Montreal!!How sweet would that be..

Steve Begin took on Tootoo last night and didn't end up in the trainers room. In fact, he did ok and bloodied Tootoo's nose. I didn't even know Begin was on Calagary.

When Seguin has a game against Toronto and does not hit the score sheet you know he is officially in a slump. Whats next? The Bs actually lose a game to the Laffs?

I guess the term "dropping the gloves" only means one combatant to Ryan White. Not that I have any sympathy for Ott, but he suckered White into that penalty big time.
And what's this? Hulk Hogan Ryan White did not seek out Scott early in the game. And then John Scott calling out White from the bench and White not taking him on later.
Gee, I guess Montreal's hero of last week John Scott is now today's villain cement head.

I'm hearing that the Montreal French press is giving it pretty good to Ryan White saying he cost them the game vs. Buffalo.
I think the biggest issue was where the game was played - in Buffalo. That meant no Montreal rulebook.
