I wonder why they gave Scott #32? Didn't that poor jersey number take enough beatings when Rob Ray wore it?

Looks like the Leafs have a book on Scott - lots of body shots by MacLaren. Maybe Scott will come down with the Toronto flu next game vs the Leafs. He's 0-2 vs them and becoming more myth than legend.

John "big goof" Scott didn't exactly look like Superman last night vs. Maclearn in Tor. I wonder if Scott's legion of fans over on Montreal Canadiens HF are in mourning today? They're probably busy trying to come up with a way to spin this one as a cake walk for Prust. Prust fights like Hal Gill did - just try to get in the way of everything coming at you but don't throw any punches back.

Ray is a homer with brain damage. I still remember the game where Tony Twist turned Rob Ray's face into Popeye's face.

And last night he said that McLaren was throwing punches but coming up 6 inches short of landing - obvious by the cut and mouse over Scott's left eye that no shots landed. He and jeanerette make quite a pair - they see a totally different game than the one being played on the ice.

Colour guy Mike Robitaille (see the video) made Ray look downright neutral.

Wondering why the Rangers used Biron instead of Lundqvist vs the Canadiens? Would never happen vs Boston.
And is that the only mulligan that Max Pac will get from the league when it comes to suspensions? The league feels they owe him something from his near death experience a couple yeas ago.

Montreal loses to the Sens but of course it's in a shootout so the Habs get a point still. Toronto beats Philly 4-2. I am getting really sick of days off and everyone in the division bagging big points. We need these teams to slide a little. We are going to be a in major dog fight for first in the division at this pace!

Their first glimpse of success in 74 years and Toronto fans are totally insufferable assholes. But give the team credit for toughneing up, because its a big part of their new found success. But I will say that after Toronto got up a couple, the Flyers started some typical Flyer shit. Is Colton Orr hurt again?

There seems to be an epidemic lately of the " big show" before a fight. The circling, the helmet removal, the elbow pad removal, the adjusting of shoulder pads, the shadown boxing....
I sure do miss the days of the spontaneous hockey fight.
If you want to fight after the puck drop, just drop & go. Enough with this crap. These theatrics make it a bit of reality TV joke.

This rehearsed crap sucks. Those fights are going to be the ones that get fighting removed from hockey. I think the linesmen ought to jump in and then they both should get delay of game penalties.

Trying to make a douchey theatrical save and make the highlight reel. That's exactly what he was trying to do. What a knob. It kind of pisses me off that Price is probably going to be the goalie for Team Canada for the next couple Olympics (that is if the NHL goes, I am assuming they will be). He is a Hab and I just don't think I can pull for him but really I am a proud Canadian and couldn't cheer against them. Can Canada medal and Price can have a slight groin tear and miss three weeks around Olympics time and not be on the team?

I don't mind the removing of the helmets because I think it is a lot more likely that a guy would break his hand on a helmet then it is that a guy would crash to the ice and smoke his head. I do have a tough time saying removing the helmet is okay though because there have been some deaths in hockey because of guys fighting with no helmets and smoking their head on the ice. I think the theatrics belong in the UFC and WWE. Guys can have personality still but shit like what Yakupov pulled after his goal a few weeks ago and the "staged" fighting and "sizing" each other up has no place in hockey for me.

Watch this video and have a big laugh. See the big blob who can't skate fall on his face. A big joke, right?
Or is it?
Now think for a minute. Apart from the non skating fat dude falling down & the cool name of the smaller dude - this resembles the exact same direction that NHL fights are headed.
I think I am going to have to start a crusade against this crap. Yes, a crusade folks.

Am I the only one looking for weaker teams to win to help our cause already . This season is a sprint so as long as the Bruins get to the dance I'm pretty confident in their chances. Btw, I kinda like these 48 game, play within you're conference thing. The end of April is going to be exciting.

Leafs were outplayed last night for sure, but the notorious Montreal Rulebook still made a couple of guest appearances.
Leaf fans and media quick to throw the toughness factor (the same toughness factor that led to their current success) under the bus.
So maybe Colton Orr should not have near equal minutes to Kessel and Van Reim, but is that any reason to call for the benching of Orr and the reclaimation of the next Inge Hammerstrom?

Referees have been brutal. They cost the leafs 2 goals - that boarding major was crap (2 was plenty) and dropping the puck while Bozak wasn't set on the face off where the winning goal was scored was unbeleafable. Maybe the refs have been told that montreal is a touring team of slightly larger than average women playing non-contact exhibition games against NHL teams??

Sorry but if you go into faceoff circle & are home team, put your blade on the ice then pick it up YOU are to blame for NOT being set. Yes the linesman did kinda hose job BUT player at that level has to know it can happen too just my $0.02 ;D
