Doesn't 4 Hamas seem like a lot for this deflate gate deal? Plus picks and a fine to the team...crazy.
Im mi guessing the actual suspension will be more like 1 or 2. Still...kind of steep.

Considering they were fine to let Ray Rice play until the beating tapes were made public and that Aaron Rogers has said that he overinflated balls and that they didn't even find enough evidence to say equivocally that Brady was in on it (he probably was but its not proven), 4 games is horseshit. All the more reason to go out and win again to shut the fuckers up.

He would have been better off beating his wife. Rice got 2 games for that....

pile the endless hate on bruins and pats. b's are the dirtiest and the pats are cheatahs.
but im a steeler fan and mike tomlin got the team in a lot of trouble for stepping on the field. i think the no fun league needs to relax a little.
big punishments for the stupidest things and big things seem to have less of a punishment.

How bout the Falcons guilty of piping in artificial crowd noise when the visiting team was close to end zone?? That WAS proven!! How bout that the Colts couldn't stop the run, & couldn't score enough points!?!? WTF does an "under inflated ball" matter? How bout the Ref's, linesmen that touch the balls after EVERY play? Why I really don't care that much for the WAY over hyped National Felon League!!!!!!! Correction on the team piping in artificial crowd noise.

Watch football, but not NFL politics...
Why does the league have it in for the Patriots? Isn't Tom Brady the NFL's current meal ticket?
And how many games did that piece of human garbage player get who ran a dog fighting ring? Forget his name but recall the horrible crime he committed. Should have been prison for life, but didn't he play in the NFL soon after?

I for one am done with the NFL. While the quality of players is exceptional and the caliber of play on the field very high, I just can not stand Goodell and the NFL brass. For me they have completely ruined the game and I will not watch or support the league again until Goodell is removed as commissioner.
While Brady is likely guilty of asking the equipment folks to keep his footballs on the lower end of the spectrum the league found no proof that he instructed anyone to deflate the balls past lower then what was legal. The Wells report is one of the biggest crocks of shit ever written. There are so many discrepancies in it that it is worthless.
I for one hope that Brady and the Patriots sue the NFL and win. Maybe then the owners will force Goodell out. Reports say Kraft is done with Goodell....Kraft should join forces with Dan Snyder and Jerry Jones who Goodell equally boned. Remember the 18 million dollar cap penalty for breaking a rule that actually did not even exist. Only the Cowboys and Redskins were punished yet at least 5 other teams did the same thing. The committee that investigated was led by Mara and Goodell. Mara being the Giants owner should never have been allowed to be part of that. No coincidence that only Dallas and Washington were punished.
I am not even a New England Fan.

I've read some of the Wells report and the one thing that I don't understand is that the Colts tipped off the NFL prior to the game that they thought the Pats were deflating Balls. Why doesn't the NFL go to the Pats and tell them of these allegations and that they are going to be keeping an eye on them. Surely the Ball guy wouldn't have deflated the balls had he known they were going to be checking them at halftime. So by not telling the Pats up front the refs kind of ok'd the cheating in the first half since they didn't do anything to the Pats in that game once the balls were deemed to be under-inflated. Maybe the refs decided that they would let it go because with under inflated balls the first half is still close. Had the balls been properly inflated do the Pats score 80 points? In Hockey if a guy is playing with an illegal stick and he's caught there is a two minute minor and he loses that stick. That to me makes more sense. The sensible thing here would be on the Pats first drive of the second half they are assessed a 10 yard penalty and on we go. Its all just a conspiracy by the NFL Marketing Machine to keep their brand front and center during the off season.

It's pretty clear that Brady got suspended for putting egg on Goodell's face during the Super Bowl. Goodell's had far too many missteps this year and this was relatively minor considering everything else that happened. I hope Brady and the Pats set his ass on fire.

Heard an audio clip from the man who led the investigation. Only one thing to say...
The guy is a complete whacko.
A minor sideline story used to fill the dead week before the Super Bowl - and this is how Brady will be remembered?
Brady should retire, and stick it to the NFL.

He deserves to have egg on his face. All he had to do was tell The Pats that they had concerns about Ball Deflating and that they were going to be checking PSI at halftime and after the game. Dollars to donuts they don't deflate the Balls and this is a non issue. To me it almost seems like Goodell wanted this controversy so that he could drop the Hammer on the Pats to show everyone that he was a tough guy after screwing the Pooch on the Rice/Peterson issues.

What I find so frustrating is the blatant inconsistencies in the report and how badly the league bungled everything. When the Balls went missing they should have all been checked immediately or removed from the game. The referee in charge of the game has publicly admitted he does not know which gauge was used to measure the balls when. How is that kind of incompetence even possible? Why are teams still handling their own balls? Game balls should never ever be handled by teams unless the referee hands them the ball for a play. There is so much wrong with that report it is mind boggling. Even the context of the text messages is under question. Show me one text from anyone that says they were instructed to inflate the balls below the league minimum. Look I am all for punishing those that cheat and I do not believe that Brady and the Pats are innocent. However, how do you even investigate this shit when the Vikings and Panthers were fined for heating up balls before they were tested again. The only reason they would do that would be to get a higher PSI so the balls pass the minimum levels. They were both warned not to do it again. Why were the Patriots not given a similar fine and warning? I sincerely hope that Goodell is removed as commissioner soon.

Oh I agree. He deserved it but he's trying to make a point about who's in charge. It's horseshit for through and through. I'm still waiting to see how many games Aaron Rogers is suspended for for overinflating balls.

Didn't the league also orchestrate the schedule so Brady returns for a featured game of the week? Against Dallas or something?

when does hockey season start? it's all about money and how much more the NFL can make. I certainly hope this one back fires as well. and Brady wins his lawsuit. I mean come on this is getting stupid. 4 games and hefty fine for a little air but guy can beat up his girlfriend and ON film and get 2 games. Next we'll be hearing Hernandaz is coaching from his jail cell...
