Gonna be a tough game to win on this old fellers birthday. But the way the league is today with so many teams, anyone can win on any given night. That's why we're very lucky to grab 5 points out of a possible 6 after a poor start. Get back to .500 at home, win this one for your fans and then head out on the road for a 6 gamer and continue to do whatever the heck it is you're doing on the road, it is working as 16-5 is the 2nd best record only to Washington.

Good job Looch, I hope he doesn't drop the gloves either. We have nobody that can go with him and I doubt he and Chara will mix it up.
The whole story makes me more than a little sick about where we have gone since 2011. We had a bunch of guys that had a whole different level of commitment to competing and winning. As a group we just don't have it anymore. Back then we had skill, toughness and a very tight group. Now we have less skill, no toughness and a collection of players who really don't believe that they are close to building anything, at least not yet anyway. That time may come again but we need to get some new polarizing players to put their stamp on this team much like Looch.

I know what you mean but still, Bruins are tied for 8th overall and just a single point from 3rd in the East. Also they have the 2nd best road record in all the league. Still kjc, I know what you mean and I feel the same way. I think what does it is their uninspired play at home. Being a game under .500 on home ice is terrible to say the least. But that don't surprise me. They play like a .500 team but why their record is so good on the road is beyond me. They're just not good enough to be 16-5 away. The offence is fine, 2nd most goals for in the Conference, 4th in the league. That stat just blows me away, 4th ranked offence in the league?? The defensive end of things is an entirely different story. GFA 3rd in league GAA 17th in the league..How bad would it be without the goaltending?? I dunno, personally I'm waiting for it all to crumble..The defence is so friggin bad. I mean when everyone is asking when Adam Mcquaid is returning like he's Ray Bourque, how bad is that? Please don't get me wrong. Quaider is a good defenceman, a good #5 defenceman but in no way is he a top 4 defenceman even though he's getting paid like it. I really hope Sweeney don't trade our future assets just to make the playoffs. It could be one and done! We'll just have to see what happens the rest of the way. That 14-1-1 run before Christmas got the Bruins where they are now. And besides the 0-3 start to the season, this team hasn't went into a prolonged slump yet. I hope it never happens cause we're at the point of season where the going gets tough and the tough get going. Are the Bruins tough enough?? ca.sports.yahoo.com/nhl/stats/byteam?cat=oppteamstats&sort=443

The flip side is that they're on 3 points from being out of a playoff spot. Like last year, they haven't shown the ability to go to the next level, they're leaving points on the table far to and they're an injury or bad trade away from being a complete disaster.

True BUT they do have 2 Gms @ hand on the team 3pts behind them. 4pts out of 2nd in conf. W/gm @ hand.Tonight will be a HUGE test on where they are.

Games in hand only matter if they win them, otherwise it's a false sense of security. Right now they're 6 points out of 2nd in the conference - Florida has 68 points, putting the Bs closer to the outside of the post season than at the top of the conference.

Maybe Krug will have a go with him lol. If Nolan and Looch are both playing it could be a painful night for the B's

I am guessing that Looch would love to hang one on his old team, that coupled with how pathetic they are at home this year, I am predicting a rough night for them. 5-1 LA and Looch with a goal and a fight.

I agree they HAVE to win Gms @ hand BUT I'm also not being pessimistic right now at this point of the season. I was early & when they were tanking. BUT they show signs of really being able to get their collective shit together, maybe not a deep run in post season but the start of a team in the near future with some help on the D. Hell, who including my self would've thought they would as high as they are in scoring, under 500 @ home ,their road record not to mention an ACTUAL lethal PP!!!!!

A special one tonight, tons of emotions for all, will be up there with the Orr, Espo and Ray nights. A perfect opportunity for this group to get motivated and play their best home game of the year and gain confidence and kickstart them for the stretch run...... and Claude sticks with same lineup.

A win would go a long way into giving this team some confidence and give them a huge boost going down the stretch.......
However I'm with crafar01, I think we have our asses handed to us tonight, LA is a huge team and we don't stack well against big teams that happen to be contenders.

There are positives but it's hard to get too excited when they need OT to get points against cellar dwellers and they're on pace for a nearly identical finish as last year (96-98 points).

where they are now and the projected points are much higher than the vision some/many had of them...i remember seeing thoughts of the b's being a lotto pick.
it would be nice if they can get their act together at home.

My biggest beef is with Talbot being in every frigg'n night, he's slow, small and brings nothing to the table as far as I can see but Claude loves the guy and continues to trot him out there.

That would be funny, cuz the crowd would be split on to who to cheer for. Looch will get a great ovation to start. I wonder if he earns himself some booing before the night is over?
