does center ice have their free preview going now? Donny, I got the game other night but nothing on tonight..Likely when season begins or sooner, they'll have the free preview..I've had NHL Center Ice since it became available but I don't think I'll be having it this season..To be honest, doctor has me off work permanently and I should save the $200 for something we need. But my wife disagree's with me and says its a Christmas gift, so I dunno!!

I read that Spooner was great, Czarnik continues to look good but after that there wasn't anything good to take away. The D was horrible.

Preseason NHL games are usually somewhat unsightly, but last night’s Bruins-Red Wings meeting at the Garden was a particularly ugly affair for the home team.
The B’s again went heavy with the youth and wound up allowing 42 shots against in a 5-1 loss to Detroit.
Goalie Malcolm Subban played the first two periods and allowed four goals on 34 shots, experiencing both ups and downs in the contest. He stopped a 2-on-0 break and another clean breakaway, but was beaten for a bad shortside goal by Luke Glendening that made it 3-0 in the second period.
“I was a little rusty today on post coverage and stuff,” Subban said. “Even the second goal, it was a bang-bang play but I kind of lost the puck behind the net. I’ve just got to clean that up and build on it for the next game.”
Ryan Spooner made a terrific rush to set up Austin Czarnik on the B’s lone goal of the game in the second period, but he had an otherwise tough night. Spooner had a particularly rough 2:02 late in the first period. First, he picked up a penalty for a faceoff violation and the Red Wings scored the first goal of the game on the ensuing power play. Then, 21 seconds later, he was trying to defend behind Subban’s net but Drew Miller was able to center the puck to Steve Ott to make it a 2-0 game.
One of Spooner’s main focuses coming into camp was to improve on faceoffs, but he won just 4-of-16 draws, not to mention the costly infraction.
“I wasn’t great on my faceoffs tonight, trying to cheat a little too much,” Spooner said. “I think maybe I need to bear down a little bit more, maybe not try to win them clean but just tie up a little more. I just tried to cheat a little more and it didn’t work.”
On a positive note, defenseman Matt Grzelcyk’s puck-moving abilities emerged.
“I thought (Grzelcyk’s) third period was the best period he had,” assistant coach Joe Sacco said. “As the game progressed, he started to feel a little more confident out there. He was skating, he was able to escape on the breakouts. It was his first game in a Bruin uniform, back at home here, so I’m sure he was probably fighting some nerves at the beginning. I’m sure it was a special night for him. I thought he got better as the game went on.”
The Charlestown native had played at the Garden before with Boston University, but you only make your pro debut once.
“It was obviously really exciting to get out there. I was a little nervous before the game until I got the jitters out, but it was nice to get a game under my belt,” said Grzelcyk, who picked up an assist on the Czarnik goal.
Senyshyn in
Zach Senyshyn, who missed the rookie camp after he underwent an appendectomy and was originally expected to miss most of the preseason, was in the lineup against the Red Wings.
The forward conceded that his first preseason game came about a little ahead of schedule.
“I feel really confident and I feel back to 100 percent,” Senyshyn, the No. 15 overall pick in the 2015 NHL draft, said. “I want to show that I got a lot stronger over the course of (last) season and really worked on my defensive play and rounded out my game. I was very one-dimensional last year, I thought, and I think I made real strides in improving that part of my game.”
Although he would have liked to have participated in rookie camp, Senyshyn still thinks he can make a run at a roster spot.
“I was just taking part last year and really was just gaining the experience last year instead of really fighting for a spot,” he said. “I think my mindset’s a lot different this year. My skill level’s a lot different. I’m feeling very confident and it’s a big opportunity for me and one I don’t want to waste.”
Senyshyn tied with defenseman Colin Miller for a game-high five shots on net but was minus-1.
Acciari exits early
Noel Acciari suffered what appeared to be a right leg injury in the third period and had a hard time getting to the bench. The forward did not return. Sacco had no update on his condition. . . .
Defenseman Dennis
Seidenberg, bought out of the final two years of his B’s contract, finally landed on his feet with a one-year deal for $1 million with the New York Islanders.
