Thanks for the update! Should be fun watching Locmelis again this year at the WJ. The only negative to keeping Poitras is that we miss seeing him out there playing for Canada in this tourney!

Team 🇨🇦 goalies for 2024 World Juniors Scott Ratzlaff Mathis Rousseau Samuel St-Hilaire Bruins Draft pick One other interesting tidbit from Canada's selections is they only picked 12 forwards (instead of 13). They are leaving a spot open in case one of the NHLers that is eligible is giving the green light by his team. Buffalo Sabres winger Zach Benson and Boston Bruins centre Matthew Poitras seem to be the two that Canada thinks might be available. Chicago Blackhawks centre Connor Bedard, Columbus Blue Jackets centre Adam Fantilli, Coachella Valley Firebirds centre Shane Wright, Blackhawks defenceman Kevin Korchinsk are also eligible but all played and won gold last year while Benson and Poitras were not on the team.

Thanks for the update, Seabass! I got tickets to see Swift Current play in late January. Hopefully Reid Dyck is back by then! He got massively shelled last year when I saw him play so hoping for a better performance this year if he gets in between the pipes!

Yeah and it seems to be "lower body" stuff which is not the type of injury you want on your goalies usually! Seems like once they have it once they reaggravate it over and over!

I caught Reid Dyck with the Swift Current Broncos in action against the WHL leading Saskatoon Blades yesterday. Saskatoon won in OT 3-2. Blades outshot the Broncos 34-22. First goal on Dyck was a rebound that I think he would have liked to control a little better that was banged home through the five hole. 2nd goal was a pretty nice snipe by Fraser Minten (Leafs draft pick) from the scoring area inside the hash - high glove and in OT, Minten went end to end, torched the last man back with a nice deke and slid it five hole on Reid.
Dyck played really well all things considered. He is a big guy at 6'4 and covers a lot of net. He was pretty aggressive challenging shooters which I liked. He made some really nice saves and held the Broncos in it. He sure doesn't like to get scored on! Lots of head bobbing and expletives being dropped after getting scored on so good to see a little fire from him and did seem to regain composure quick.
Attaching a two minute video of the highlights for anyone that's interested. Minten's rush is at about the 1:55 mark of the video - turn your volume down the Blades play-by-play guy gets a little excited haha.

Ory thanks so very much for this, you promised you would and I knew you would..Dyck is still trying to find his game, just his 2nd back since his injury but he'll soon be back to his normal self..REALLY surprised SCB outshot best team in league 34-22 so Sask goalie must of had a really good game..Was that Morgan Geekies brother I heard mention a couple times?? Again, thanks for this brother..You gave a perfect review of the game, much appreciated!!

He's about the same size as Morgan and really had nice body positioning on the 2nd goal. He was very tough to knock off the puck!

Sounds like his big brother who I believe we have yet to see the best of..I think Seattle will regret not giving him a qualifying offer which makes zero sense to me..Happy he's a Bruin.

www.nhl.com/bruins/news/prospects-report-gasseau-jellvik-help-bc-to-big-weekendJust take notice to the size of some of those guys..We got some big boys coming up the pipeline..Jellvik will be a Bruin next season, yep, just another prediction of mine..And this Latvian, Locmelis is gonna be a good one very soon..I honestly think our prospect pool is better than some so called experts think..BUT they need to be given a chance, certainly not the way Monty handles our kids when they do get a call up..

It was back-to-back shutouts for #NHLBruins prospect and Swift Current Broncos goaltender Reid Dyck after stopping all 26 shots he faced last night in a 3-0 win over the Regina Pats.
