Mark Divver
Talked to Adam McQuaid after PC-NU game. He watched video on Andrew Peeke before the deal. Likes the way he competes around the net. Says Boston's structure should help him

Hoping they have a lot more info on the severity of Maroon’s injury and chance of recovery than we do. Need his presence, can’t have guys continually running our top guys and having Marchy and Mac dropping the gloves. The 6th round pick kicks in if he plays 1 playoff game. Peeke’s more of trying to catch lightning in a bottle. Throwing in a 3rd rounder and taking on 2 more years of 2.75 mil for a guy who was -41 last year and unable to crack THEIR lineup for more than half the season thus far seems like a big reach. Think nothing short of becoming lottery fodder could threaten their jobs and even then I’m not sure. Does the Peeke deal remind you of the 2015 draft instead of picking the sure thing they went off the table , same with this Peeke deal is beyond a puzzle considering what was out there and the prices paid 🤷♂️ You mean with Donny being the smartest guy in the room thing? YES. Hearing today there was a good chance he would have been bought out after the season. Peeke that is.

I haven’t taken any psychology courses but I am old and seen and heard a ton in my life but I didn’t like Peeke’s interview. I get the big smile and that he’s happy to be a Bruin but I would have liked to have heard, “ I’m here because my play in Columbus sucked and the Jackets had enough and I know I’ll have to earn my spot here in the Bruins lineup”, or something along those lines. I just hope he’s humbled and wants to work hard to redeem himself.

But I have seen enough to see how this ends unfortunately. For the exact same money who do you want Luke Schenn Andrew Peeke

So it’s Schenn for me.

Peeke is 6'2 215 can skate better than Forbort and is better defensively. The salaries are a wash. Forbort isn't coming back. Now they have another depth D. Maroon is filling the Lucic role and probably wont play until the playoffs and even then probably wont play until they meet up with Fla. No cap No picks No deadline impact players simple as that..

If they are going to win it will be because they figured out how to close games out.. If they do then look out.. Fla isn't flawless and a first round battle with the NYI might just take the starch out of em similar to what happen to the B's last season.

Could of got this guy this summer for maybe minimun salary but that wouldnt help us this season..I simply dont like taking on that contract BUT hoping Peeke changes all our minds..Just hoping for the best of a bad situation I spose!!

The Bruins have signed defenseman Drew Bavaro to a one-year entry-level contract with an NHL cap hit of $867,500.
The 6-foot-3, right-shot D posted 20 points in 35 games with Notre Dame this season. Played two seasons at Bentley.
Will report to Providence this year on an ATO.

UFA’s who stays Jake DeBrusk James Van Riemsdyk Danton Heinen Matt Grzelcyk Derek Forbort Kevin Shattenkirk Milan Lucic Pat Maroon Jayson Megna Anthony Richard Daniel Renouf My guess is Grzelyck, JVR and Heinen. I would only sign Heinen. JDB will get a big offer from Calgary and he will run not walk out the door. I don't believe for one second he wants to stay in Boston. They will sign Gryz because they love to fucking torture us!

He repeatedly stated he wants to play only in Boston.. Heinen gets a slight raise and stays JVR back on similar 1 million $ contract. Richard gets minimun 1 way contract..

They have Lorei and Wortherspoon on the left so there is no room for Forbort but there was a need on the right side. I think you guys misread my post. No where do I claim this guy is a stud. What I said was He's younger and skates better than Forbort Look when you have no cap space and no draft picks or any prospects to offer then you get an Andrew Peeke. The reason why the Jackets unloaded him was they gave him a good contract then brought in Provorov and Severson who are both stud RD and make a lot money..oh and they play a lot too.. so it's cap dump and it seemed like the perfect trade for both teams.. just happen to have the same cap hit as you guessed it Forbort..

FYI. This is week 5 for Maroon's 4-6 week recovery. Grz out.
"Pat Maroon remains week to week after the Bruins acquired him in a trade with the Minnesota Wild on Friday.
The forward had back surgery Feb. 7 with the timeline for his return estimated at 4-6 weeks.
"He's not even skating yet, so it's week to week," Boston coach Jim Montgomery said Wednesday. "…The professionals that we have think the best thing is to gradually bring him back onto the ice."
Maroon has 16 points (four goals, 12 assists) and 60 penalty minutes in 49 games this season.
Forward James van Riemsdyk and defenseman Matt Grzelcyk each did not practice Wednesday because of illness. Montgomery said van Riemsdyk will travel with the Bruins for their game at the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday (7 p.m. ET; RDS, TSN2, NESN), but Grzelcyk will not.
Defenseman Andrew Peeke will make his Bruins debut Thursday. He was acquired in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 8.
"It's special playing for an Original Six team," said Peeke, who has eight points (one goal, seven assists) in 23 games this season. "It's all you can dream of. Just going to go out there and play my game and at this point I feel like I'm getting accustomed to everything, systems and whatnot, so I'm excited."
