So what do folks think the over under for Bergeron to say screw it I am done and retire? I am leaning towards it is a 70/30 in favour of him retiring.

If he does retire I wonder if the Bs go into Sell mode in the off-season. Since the last suspension Marchy has been not been himself. Wonder if Bergie does hang them up would the Bs consider trading Marchand for a Bonafide number 1 center. I think with the Jets missing the playoffs they might be looking to shake things up. Maybe Schiefle becomes available.

Think Bergy has plenty of hockey still left in him. He’s played in more games this year than in the last four years. I’m more of a glass half full when it comes to what lies ahead for the team. Think a different coach is what’s needed for this group to realize their full potential. Would think the Captain is most aware of that, hope the FO is too.

I don’t mean this to be disrespectful but Bergeron signing for another year or two is the same as the Z situation when he kept signing one year extensions. We need two fresh top six centers to contend. Playing around with Bergeron is a losers game. He’s in-line for another selke this year but he’s getting old and we need new blood to keep up with Matthews, Barkov, Point and the list goes on. If he retires we adapt by thinking big picture, if he stays we delay the inevitable.

Think he’s the reason where they are, not the problem.

My sense is Bergy has had enough From a pure hockey standpoint he’s had a healthy great season and by no means is he any less the player than he’s been. He may be growing weary of the going’s on by the coaching staff and FO however. Must be difficult to have had an team/organization identity and structure that is successful enough to lift the Cup only to scrap and abandon it to play a trendy style where your star players are targeted on a nightly basis. We’ve been so fortunate beyond words.

Bullshit article. Bergie is from Quebec City and not Montreal. He has also said that he did not grow up a Habs Fan. There is so much garbage on the internet that it is hard to believe anything you see on there. People just put shit out for clickbait to attract programatic advertising on their sites. Brutal!!

I agree completely with you. It isn't like Montreal is close to winning either and Bergeron doesn't need the money. It makes no sense on every level. His reputation would be forever tarnished as a Bruin. He has way too much class to piss it all away by going to the Habs. I think he's retiring.

He seems ready to call it a career and he’d be smart to make the decision now. The Bruins didn’t win with him this year and unless they promise to actually get another center in here to help we won’t win next year with him either. I’d miss him, the Bruins would miss him but part of me says we got to go backwards a little, rebuild/retool and try to get back to being a legit contender again.
