Should the Bruins use Load management with the Older Players down the stretch? Brad Marchand: “If you can’t play back-to-backs, then you shouldn’t be in the league. You should be the best conditioned athletes in the world.”

Brad is full of shit and apparently we didn’t learn a thing from Bergeron being burnt out or Z

Brad is on pace to put up the basically the same numbers as last year but he missed 7 games last year and came off double hip surgery. My eye test tells me he’s fallen off this past month or 2. The same way my eye test told me that Bergeron and Krejci fell off down the stretch last year which they both easily admitted to in retirement. Brad’s ego won’t let him admit it, he’s an old veteran and the best thing for him is a rest.
I do agree with his sentiment on back to backs though but it shouldn’t include players 33, 34, 35+ years old.

I watched a podcast on Thursday, it’s done by a young guy whose views are pretty good but I was shocked on his view on back to backs. He said we couldn’t be expected to win that game because of the intensity and physicality of the day before, it sounded like an automatic loss. I get it, it’s not nothing, the numbers don’t lie on back to back games but good successful teams have a different mentality. I thought we looked like we had a built in excuse and our play reflected it. The score was close because Ullmark was really good but we never generated much of anything in the second half.

As I think we all know, Marchand is the heartbeat of this team and if he’s going well he’ll drag everyone up with him but I fear the opposite if he’s he’s worn out and ineffective. Don’t get me wrong, he’ll never cheat us on effort.

I have mixed feelings on Geekie. Some games he looks impressive and some nights he’s invisible. I guess that can be said for a few guys.

Saw a highlight video of him, good mitts, heavy shot. Damn I'm still pissed we never got Quillan..I read he wanted to sign with Bruins and Bruins wantrd him, what the hell went wrong..Unless Leafs gave him a 2 yr contract whereas Bruins would only give him a 1 yr..Just hope thats not the reason..32 freaking teams were after him and another guy, his teammate who tied the game before Quillan won it in OT..

Same old story Newf we get the steady as she goes guy and the Loafs get the shiny new toy. Have a good feeling about this Nelson kid though. Think there’s some pedigree there and well, you can’t teach size. Hopefully there’s some snarl there as well.

Don Sweeney said that Justin Brazeau is still on a “week-to-week” timeline. Availability at the start of this series is “unlikely.”
Started skating but still has some hurdles to clear.
