6'5, 220lbs. My kinda d-man for sure! I always liked Burns. Brent Burns once swam in my swimming pool. My kids think that is pretty cool. Thought I read somewhere that they're your step-kids?

As per @tsnbobmckenzie. Jeff Carter has been told he's been traded to CBJ.
Hearing CBJ gives Voracek, 1st round pick and 3rd round pick for Carter.

Flyers are friggen busy. Rumor has them sending Richards to the Kings for Schenn and Simmonds.
Deal is done according to Gord Miller.
Making a lot of moves just so they can sign Bryzgalov ;D

I thought Philly did real well in the Carter deal but the Richards deal was a mistake. I know Richards has some off ice issues in Philly maybe they couldn't over come it. ;D

Darren Dreger - "Joe Nieuwendyk asked Brad Richards to waive his no-move clause today. Richards declined."
That's an asshole move by Richards considering he's days away from signing wherever he wants regardless of who owns his rights before July 1st.

If Richards is planning to go UFA on July 1 there is no reason for him to wave his no trade. If he waived it and got traded to a team only to tell them he is waiting for July 1 that would be an asshole move.

One phone call could be requested before a deal is finalized if they wanted.

I understood Carter moving , the Richards move is crazy ..20 years 102 million..Thats clearing cap.. The Carter move makes more sense for the Blue Jackets than Philly. They get a 26 year old centerman that can be one of the best in the game if he wants to be. A pussy like Briere and small fucktard like Giroux will not be enough to carry the team down the middle, and a Russian goalie (any Russian) has yet to really shoulder the load in the NHL. Good luck, these assholes are going to need it.

Shocked by the Philly deals today. Richards is a franchise player in my opinion and fit in perfectly with the Flyers. Carter, meh not so so surprised, his name has been thrown around for a while now.

Wow on the Philly deals....there must be some serious issues in Philly for them to deal both of their key forwards. They did get a nice haul of younger players but I think that both deals are going to haunt them next season. Columbus did very well getting Carter and I think he will play well with Nash. The Kings just got very good in the west now too. Richards will be an excellent addition to that team.

They then signed Bryzgalov to a 9 year 51 million dollar deal. I hope he sucks like the last few goalies

I think they will miss Richards big time but they still have a very strong team. Giroux, Briere and Schenn down the middle. JVR, Leino, Hartnell, Voracek, Simmons, Hartnell on the wing rounding out the top nine. Still very much a contender IMO.

It might all be worth it for Philly IF Illya pays off. Having good goal tending is very important in the playoffs, as Philly found out this year.

I think the Philly deal makes them significantly weaker in the immediate, but it gives them the cap room to sign JVR to a long term deal. He is their franchise now.

With Philly being one year removed from a Cup finals appearance, it really shows that you have to take advantage of your opportunites when they present themselves. If Carter and Richards had brought a Cup to Philly, they would be gods. Now, they are shipped off to make room for a flaky, overpaid goalie that will probably tank now that he's gotten his payday.

Should we start calling the goalie situation in Philly the Curse of Ron Hextall?

Room was divided into Richards/Carter and Pronger/Hartnell camps, now its not.

Schenn should be good in a few years but whether or not he's good now remains to be seen. Giroux has talent but one breakout season isn't something I'd be willing to gamble the teams success on. Briere is talented but he is also a big fucking pussy. I think Philly's forwards are going to have the shit beat out of them this year and overall, they've dropped a few pegs. They no longer have a guy who can be a dominant centerman, they got smaller up front, and they signed a goalie with less playoff success than Boucher. Put them firmly down in the pretender category.
