Filatov from Columbus to Ottawa for 66th pick A 6th overall pick 2008 wasted by Columbus, another Zach Hamil I guess.

A 6th overall pick 2008 wasted by Columbus, another Zach Hamil I guess. EEK. He was so coveted. wtf happened? If he turns into a player with Ottawa the Columbus GM Scott Howson should be fired. I'm guessing if that Carter deal doesn't pan out he's gone anyway.

The "word on the street" was that Carter was nailing Hartnell's wife and Richards backed Carter. Room was divided into Richards/Carter and Pronger/Hartnell camps, now its not. If that was the case they traded the wrong guy , Hartnell should have been traded not Richards .. What message would that send? Trade the guy who is the victim in this and keep the guy who supports the teammate who fucked the other ones wife? That is like giving Hartnell 3 boots to the nuts. 1. Your wife cheats on you with a teammate 2. You're being traded 3. We support Ricahrds cause he's sticking up for the guy who nailed your wife.

Gord Miller - "The Ryan Smyth deal has bogged down with Edm. Issue appears to be Brule's health. Kings are still talking with the Oilers and... Flames." I thought the point of this deal for the Kings was to be a salary dump for the Kings more than anything else. Besides, healthy or not, Brule sucks. TSN is reporting that they were taking Brule and were going to immediately buy him out. Since you can't buy out injured players, that's the problem. That makes a lot of sense now.

Richards parties a lot and is yappy with the local Philly media, there is probably no more too it than that. He has a ton of growing up to do and it's the Flyers fault for giving him the C way too early. IMHO

Take note - one year the Flyers make it to the Finals. The next, they blow up the team. What have you done for me lately? Bruin fans, let's enjoy the next few months.....

I was reading this morning that Carter has yet to make any type of statement to the media and has yet to speak to any member of the Columbus Blue Jacket management. Apparently he's had a text conversation with Nash and that's it. Clearly, he's pissed off.

Clearly, he's pissed off. Not half as pissed off as Hartnell is. When do the Flyers play the Blue Jackets?

I just remember back after TT signed his extension and it was suggested that he should be traded before the NMC kicked in and most (even TT critics) saw it as a dick move. Well Carter just experienced that dick move. Although, he may have brought a lot of this on himself. If the rumors are true that is.

McKenzie - Kevin Bieksa has agreed to terms on a new contract with the Canucks. Bieksa deal is 5 x $4.6 with a NTC. Now I don't see alot of western conference games, but from what I saw in the playoffs, he didn't look like a $4.6 mil per year defenseman...

Bieksa is under-rated in my opinion. He was the only Canuck D-men that I was really impressed with throughout the playoffs. Good for him to land the big money. He'd look a lot more attractive coming in at 3-3.5 but those are the breaks when you come in second place...

He is defintely worth that money and he was having a great playoff until he got to the final. There wasn't an edge to his game like he has shown in the past. Maybe he fancies himself an offensive defenseman now.

Brooks Laich re-signs 6 yrs. 27M. 4.5 will be the cap hit. Thats alot of coin for a 16 goal scorer. I realize he is UFA but what do the Bs have to ante up for Marchand after his season and more importantly his playoff. And I guess Ryder is going to command similar dollars to his last contract as well.
